Summer Cool Down Program

Home Free Haven partners with area churches to provide our friends an opportunity to escape the cruel Alabama heat and humidity, enjoy a great meal, take a shower, and rest. Our friends also enjoy meaningful socialization and are connected with essential resources.

This program, the first of its kind for the Shoals, ran during the months of June, July, and August and was a fantastic success for all involved. We look forward to our 2025 Summer Cool Down Program.

Street Support

Our street support program plays a crucial role in assisting our friends by providing essential services and support right where they are. This initiative offers vital resources such as food, hydration, and essential supplies while allowing informal case management to occur. By building trust and fostering relationships,  our street support helps individuals navigate the complexities of homelessness and work towards stable housing solutions. These efforts not only improve the immediate quality of life for those in need but also contribute to long-term positive outcomes, reducing the overall impact of homelessness on our community.

Meal Delivery

Meal delivery is a crucial initiative that addresses food insecurity and promotes community welfare while creating additional opportunities to connect with essential resources. This program ensure that vulnerable individuals receive nutritious meals, fostering better health and stability. By collaborating with local churches, businesses, organizations, and volunteers, meal delivery services create a reliable support network that not only meets immediate needs but also helps individuals regain their footing. Supporting this program is essential for building a compassionate society where everyone has access to basic necessities.

Meaningful Connections

Home Free Haven’s case management services for our friends create a comprehensive approach to providing personalized support and resources to individuals experiencing homelessness. This service involves extensive dedication to working one-on-one with friends to assess their unique needs, develop tailored plans, and connect them with essential services such as housing, healthcare, employment, and social support. Effective case management can significantly improve the well-being and stability of homeless individuals by addressing the root causes of homelessness and facilitating long-term solutions. By offering continuous guidance and advocacy, case management helps to break the cycle of homelessness and empower individuals to achieve self-sufficiency.

Fresh Start Laundry Vouchers

Our Fresh Start Laundry Voucher Program is a community-driven initiative designed to provide essential laundry services at no cost. This program aims to support those experiencing homelessness by offering access to clean clothes, promoting hygiene, dignity, and a sense of well-being. By partnering with Royal Suds laundromat, we distribute vouchers that can be redeemed for free laundry services, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to maintain their personal cleanliness. Freshly laundered clothing helps create a tangible difference in our community by helping our friends regain their confidence and hope.

Mobile Hydration Stations

Home Free Haven’s mobile hydration stations play an important role in supporting our friends by providing easy access to clean drinking water, especially during extreme weather conditions. These portable units are conveniently placed in our vehicles, offering a lifeline to those we encounter during our daily travels. By ensuring hydration, mobile stations help prevent dehydration-related health issues and promote overall well-being. This compassionate initiative not only addresses a fundamental need but also raises awareness about the plight of our friends, fostering community support and engagement.

Come As You Are

We proudly offer programs and services to all unhoused and underserved individuals across the Shoals, often visiting our friends in the woods, abandoned houses, or anywhere they may be at the time.

Thoughtful Approach

We carefully prepare snack bags, supplies, activities, etc., to ensure our friends feel seen and heard and realize their importance to us. We even coordinate menus to ensure a variety of delicious foods are always served.

Tangible Results

We recognize the success of our efforts when our friends secure jobs, acquire IDs, enter treatment, receive critical medical care, or obtain housing. This is the purpose of Home Free Haven.
